Fitness Bae is based in Harare, Zimbabwe. An Online Run Coach, owner of #RunWithFitnessBae, Writer and Fitness Blogger. She was recently awarded for her blogging by the first ever Zimbabwe Blog Awards for Fitness 2017/2018. Her blog aims to help those around her achieve their health and fitness goals in an engaging and cost-effective manner. Having being overweight herself; in 2014 Fitness Bae decided to do something about it and set out on a journey to get in a little exercise whenever her body chose to cooperate and hopefully lose 5kgs. She was pleasantly surprised when she had actually lost 10kgs by the end of the year! It was at this point that the Fitness Bae movement was birthed nearly 4 years ago. Over the years she has transformed non active individuals into beginner, intermediate and some have even become advanced runners. Her blogging and fitness journey which has earned her a strong social media presence has enabled her to partner with different brands which include Golden Pilsener, Steward Health, ZiFM Stereo, and UnPluggedZim. The one unique thing about Fitness Bae is that she never set foot in the gym throughout her weight loss journey. All the fruits of her labour were a combination of at home and outdoor workouts.

vainahmukamba

Every time she is told to write about herself or her experiences she feels like its surgery where a piece of her is being cut up to be put on paper and more so painful as ink can only do so much but give a tip of the ice burg of her experiences and who she is. There are parts of her that would never be accurately revealed by ink but this is a summation of her major highlights as a person.
Vainah is a young Food Engineer who studied at the Harare Institute of Technology and is driven by the thirst to do better, to make a difference, to be outstanding, to improve and reach limitless heights, tapping into the unchartered lands of vast diverse solutions to current and potentially future problems in her community and country. Her strengths are hinged on exploring her capabilities and her distaste for mediocre. She has a keen interest in research as well as a passion for Food legislative issues and has had her work reviewed by the Research Council of Zimbabwe and has presented some of her work at the annual International Research Symposium.
The Food Engineer has her sights on leaving a positive imprint in the world. She loves her family , her country and her continent. Her journey as a leader has been an experience that has molded her into most of what she is becoming. It has been a real world experience with situations putting her acquired skills and instinct to the test. The Boost Fellowship has been the epitome of most of her acquired skills although some of the leadership training experience was pooled from as far back to when she was a Junior Councilor at Harare city junior council and when she was a Junior Parliamentarian in the Zimbabwe Junior Parliament. She is well endowed with entrepreneurial skills and business etiquette facilitated by ENACTUS( a community of students, academic and business leaders exploring ways of using entrepreneurial action to impact lives) a facet of The Boost Fellowship Zimbabwe. She has a unique skill set acquired from programs like Map for Life, Passport to success as well as entrepreneurial and financial skills from programs facilitated by the Boost fellowship with reputable local banks like CBZ bank , Kingdom bank and Barclays bank. The journey has been a learning experience with many conquests one of them was when she was selected the Boost Fellow of the year 2013 which was a great honor and a privileged achievement as it is a national award given for exceptional leadership qualities and good communication. Ethics were also integrated into her acquired skills through her participation in the annual Delta Beverages ethics challenge during her university days. The ethics challenge is a social responsibility inspired program which hatches a lot of projects which are meant to give back to the community and promote ethical practices in business.
Her experiences are invaluable and make her stand out from the rest because not only has she been equipped as a leader but as a woman who can tackle any situation and is an exceptional brand as a person . Her goal in life is to impact the lives of those around her positively through her life journey and her experiences which are not only about her but also about the people who share it with her and the people impacted by her journey of purpose. As an African woman she believes it is her responsibility to make sure that people in her sphere of influence are informed and are influenced positively to make a difference in the world.
